Growth opportunity

My expertise is in designing and building beautiful, delightful, and usable products, not in marketing. - I know that my app is far superior to all competitors (please try it for yourself!), but I have spent effectively no time marketing, reaching out to the press or influencers, or building any kind of external-facing brand. For comparison, my largest mobile competitor (Bookly) invests heavily in marketing and makes over $80k/month in revenue. - I also haven't invested in building social features such as referrals, book clubs, shared book ratings/reviews, etc., which I know would increase the viral effect of the app. - I also haven't invested in making my app cross-platform, even though I often get requests for Android and web clients. - As a single person working on this business in addition to a day job, there are simply many things I cannot do or don't have time to do. From simple optimizations such as pricing and product A/B tests or creating a blog on reading, to larger initiatives such as building a web or Android client, there's so much potential to grow this business if you have the resources to do so.

Reason for sale

The accelerating growth of this project and the associated needs and opportunities have outgrown my ability to fully support them with my full-time job. While my passion for designing and building still burns strong, someone with a complementary skillset could take this business and scale it much further than I could. Also, after working on the same project for four years I feel that it's time to take a break and free up some time to pursue other hobbies and eventually other projects, especially since building from 0-1 is what excites me the most.
